Conquest was easily the best of the original Ape movies. Planet of the Apes with Heston was all about White Fear with an unambiguous racial subtext. 'Get your hands off me you damn dirty Ape!' could easily be a Tea Party protest sign today and had the same disturbing resonance in the context of 60's social turbulence and race riots.
That's hilarious because conservatives mostly believe in intelligent design while mostly white liberals have built an apocalyptic bureaucracy with genetic evolutionary theory, animal rights activism, social segregation, and Obama's script writer.
