No Green Assholes
In defence of The Phantom Menace
There is no racism in this film. Anyone who says that Jar Jar is a stereotype of Jamaicans and that the Nemoidians are a stereotype of Asian businessmen is the kind of idiot who deliberately reads into things just so they can get offended and have a good rant about it.
Leftist inspired films are always weak on theme.
Part of the desire to live in the Dr. Who world is that you can hang with the Doctor and Captain Jack Harkness and help them battle the evil Daleks.
Han Solo is a great character to watch, but he’s also the kind of guy you want to booze with at the Cantina. Great franchises, with their well crafted worlds and memorable characters inspire us to wonder “what happens next?”.
Not so much with “Avatar.” Outside of some cool plant life, there’s nothing about that world that captures the imagination. On top of that, the characters are completely lame. As one message board poster over at joblo.com noted, “In Avatar you can either be a one-dimensional human asshole, or a one-dimensional blue asshole.” True that. Double true.

blasphemy
“Star Wars” nerds go nuts over missing scene from “Return of the Jedi”
The discussed ending of the film that Kurtz favored presented the rebel forces in tatters, Leia grappling with her new duties as queen and Luke walking off alone “like Clint Eastwood in the spaghetti westerns,” as Kurtz put it.
We got that ending in Episode 3 with the dead queen. Besides what victory theme may blog better for November?

(another) Nerd Anthem
All the cool kids keep enthusiasm rationed
Right down to the last explosive ounce
But I'd rather indulge my many passions
Even if my squaritude's a little too pronounced
Perhaps I do not strike you as a geek
Without the horn-rimmed glasses and knee-high argyle socks
But nerdery is more than wardrobe deep
And I'm a nerd down in my heart and that's where nerdhood rocks
I'm better aquainted than a good girl ought to be
With Aragorn and Yo-Saf-Bridge and Worf and HAL and Han
But you don't really know me and my culture don't control me
So don't you pigeon hole me 'cause my phaser's set to stun!
I have been a nerd since long before I could have heard
That bookish girls should look and act a certain way
And I'll still be a geek when I am utterly antique
Because I do not care what normal people say
My superpower's draining fun from parties
But if I am a misfit then I'm in good company
With Auden, Austin, Hawking, Galileo and Van Gogh,
And countless other weirdos whom you really ought to know
So stow your expectations, no I won't fix your PC
And I don't mind being underrated or ignored
The world is much too interesting to entertain ennui
And I won't ever play it cool so I won't ever once be bored
Oh, I have been a nerd since long before anyone heard
That pale and scrawny was the latest fashion trend
And I'll still be a geek after nobody thinks it's chic
Because I don't require approval in the end
In aught-four, D-Kwon's Dance Grooves swept the country
And suddenly old moon boots were Italian haute couture
Time magazine reported that our time had finally come
I guess they didn't know that we already run the world
I have been a nerd since my first five syllable word
And no TV series or movie changes that
And I'll still be a geek now Vote for Pedro's so last week
I do not care whether Milan endorses plaid
I have been a nerd since long before anyone heard
That pale and scrawny was the latest fashion trend
And I'll still be a geek after nobody thinks it's chic
Because I don't require approval in the end
I have been a nerd since long before anyone heard
That pale and scrawny was the latest fashion trend
And I'll still be a geek after nobody thinks it's chic
You will find that I have nothing to defend
No, I don't need your approval in the end...

Galactic Fail

Truther armor again, these crackheads don't give a damn about anything. All they want to do is use their rich parent's money to spit on the 501st troopers who have to build their costume from kits and clank around all day for charity walks while being insulted by the same liberals.
I wish these hollywood phonies could produce a film worthwhile like TFAU but then again fandom has proven it can thrive without their hip hop smut.

Star Wars Hates Limbaugh
Treachery in the Senate! The Jedi Council suspects that Senator Rush Clovis is secretly taking part in a Separatist conspiracy. But to find out what the Senator from Scipio is up to, the Council will need a spy of its own. Meanwhile, Jedi Anakin Skywalker has been away from Coruscant on a lengthy tour of duty leading the clone army. Now Anakin returns for a long-awaited reunion with his wife, Padmé Amidala....
And where are the angry fanboys, oh they're communists already....so much for loyalty to democracy.
Rest assured guys, Obama is everything you wanted.
I never said I supported slavery and I never praised James Earl Ray.
How sick would that be?
Trendy astroturfing is the same as CELEBRATING James Earl Ray as if the assassin of MLK were some great linchpin for left-wing talking points...oh wait he is...somebody go put his face on Time magazine up there with Hitler! It's not the truth of the accusation but the seriousness of the charge, after all. But anyway that's fine, this effort will backfire too, eventually...
White House attempt to delegitimize Fox News is greeted with a collective shrug.

At Last
After 26 long years, I can finally rest easy. Twenty-six years I spent standing in front of a camera, gritting my teeth, and shilling the latest works of every hack children's book author imaginable. For 26 years, I've told kids they could open a magical door to another world just by reading a book, when the only door it ever opened for me led to a soul-sucking career in the horrifying abyss of public television.
May that godforsaken show burn in hell.
May that godforsaken show burn in hell.
