The Pacific

Yeah sure, all of America was rolling in wealth back in the days of Roosevelt.

“Why God why do I have to go to war? Why do I have to leave all this comfort when I'm so pretty? Boo hoo hoo. Whattaworld!”

Lousy rich punks with their big houses and typewriters. Why don't they whither away like some old bastard? The visual effects look fine but hopefully the battles aren't seen as flashbacks from some wizened wannabe classical author's philosophy.

"So you want to hear about the war do ye? Well there's too sides to everything ye know. I'll tell you about the war and tell ye but good! Ol' Charlie Backwater ain't got nothing on me BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAA!!"

Looks like a lot of cockeyed calligraphy, talk of destiny with history rewritten from the lens of butterfly effect and theological upheaval. Hemingway said this, Hemingway said that. Whatever, I hope it's a true grit series like Band of Brothers without the dreamy supposition, but it doesn't look like it.

A Marine gazes upon a starlight sky from his huddled entrenched position of sand and driftwood.

“Oh Jesus, my comrades have spilled blood in many battles! I beg you to bring us a brave leader as powerful as the Egyptian kings of yore and together we shall call him Barack Obama.”
