Reading spoiler reviews of Salvation sounds like Christian Bale's demands on the main character terminated the franchise. Would have been cool if John Connor was secluded after surviving his first assassination attempt then the X-900 Marcus cyborg delivered a terminator hack radio signal which Connor embeds in his favorite mp3. With GunsNRoses in the background Connor assaults Skynet City blasting away at disabled robots “Who's the terminator now lulz”. Then in the bowels of a factory he meets Arnold's model T-800 which is immune to the hack and gets him killed. Then Marcus can go back in time in the next movie and save Connor or whatever.
