The first Grunt had green uniform pants to match his olive drab commando shirt with a brown load bearing rig. It's still feasible for an operative to use this style of equipment. If you're focus is speed and marksmanship you won't need to be weighed down by armor which trades speed for protection and an amount of concealment from camouflage. Camo is only meant for breaking up your outline to the naked eye or vision equipment anyway. Earthtones work well enough for what Grunt's job requires.
